Incubus (1963)

The incubuis approaches A very strange supernatural scary film. It's filmed in black and white with esperanto dialogue for extra atmosphere. A man and two women are in some strange place, and dark forces are conjured up to avenge the ravishing of one of the women.

It's quite difficult to follow but I think that a woman transformed herself into this man, to lure another woman to a place where she could be punished. But it's heavy with allegory and obscure. There's no morphing, and it is just a substitute actor.

The esperanto dialogue was supposedly chosen to add a feeling of non-worldliness to the whole thing. William Shatner plays the lead male role, and on the dvd I watched, he does a voice-over commentary. He says that it was suggested that Star Trek should be done in esperanto. He was all right with that because he had learned the language already, but Leonard Nimoy objected.
