A chaotic film about a man who seeks existential clarification ... I don't think he finds it.
In a scene, Bernard (Hoffman) tells Albert (Schwartzman) that Brad (Law) is like a mother to him. In a surreal metaphor-come-to-life fantasy, the camera shows Brad with long blond hair, saying, "I give and I give and I give and he takes and he takes and he takes." As he says this, the camera pans down to his open-shirted chest where he is shown nursing a full-grown Albert sloppily suckling and dribbling milk down his chin.
I think this was done with prosthetics, since there is a listing for prosthetics in the end credits. Albert is not miniaturized, at least, not substantially. Other than the long hair and breasts, there is no attempt to feminize Brad.
