A complex story about an actor (Matt Hobbs, played by Nick Nolte) who is effectively a lone parent, looking after his six year old daughter Jeannie (Whittni Wright). The girl is very strong willed, and at that young age, exceptionally talented in acting. This brings considerable strains on all concerned.
One day Matt goes to collect his daughter from a child minder; Jeannie is in excited, but unco-operative mood. "Won't you even look to see how I dressed Ricky?" Ricky comes to the door, wearing a pink party frock.
