If You Only Knew (2000, Germany and USA)

The hero of the film has to leave his New York flat after a fire. He has trouble finding a new place and eventually pretends to be gay to share a flat with his dream girl, but she keeps fixing him up with boyfriends.

During the earlier search for a flat, he encounters this transvestite. For a reason I cannot understand, she suddenly whips her wig off to show her underlying gender.

Later the hero attends a Hallowe'en party in drag.

But it's not a very wonderful film.
