Hart's War (2002)

Prison camp follies A high-minded and beautifully filmed, but ultimately unconvincing story of an American in a German WW2 prisoner-of-war camp, who acts as defending counsel for a black man accused of murder.

There are inevitably camp follies, seen only indistinctly as the background to a private conversation; would the German authorities have allowed such overt contempt for their political chief?
