Tarver's character is prepared for his role This is the definitive film version of the Shakespeare tragedy with Laurence Olivier, in a production that was technically ground-breaking.

In the middle of the play there is a brief theatrical production presented by players; Tony Tarver plays a boy in the troupe, and his role is to be the Queen in the performance.
