Alfonso Zayas visits a cabaret with some friends, and part of the show involves some drag performers. One of the artistes, Lorena Herrara is actually a genetic woman standing in for a travesty artiste, but when she comes on to Zayas as part of the stage routine, his homophobic instincts take over and he causes a scene.
When Herrara is involved in a car accident, she seeks the help of a lawyer, who turns out to be Zayas. She plays along with his mistaken belief that she is a transvestite, and he gradually finds himself sexually attracted to her. He quickly visits a psychiatrist to help him sort out his sexual identity crisis, and there are several fantasy scenes in which he is portraying his nightmares to the psychiatrist. In one of the scenes Zayas is himself dressed in drag at a fancy dress party.
There are a few scenes in the club, and two performers in particular are fairly prominent.
The title means "Female or male".
