The Happiest Days of your Life (1950, UK)

A battle for possession of the sports field England, World War 2; two boarding schools have to share the same premises; one school is boys only and one is girls only. In prim Britain, the sharing of the buildings has to be kept from the respective parents, and when some come to visit there is a farcical sequence of quick changeovers from boys' classroom to girls'.

The sports field had to be changed from football to hockey at a moment's notice too; here there is a strong disagreement between the boys' and girls' teachers.

As things get ever more frenetic, some boys are in the swimming pool; they're ordered to put on some clothes and to come and present themselves to their parents; the teacher leaves some clothes for them to put on, but unfortunately due to a mix up the clothes are for the girls. In the theatre play, you actually see the boys dressed in gymslips in the last seconds of the play, but the film omitted this bit, so it's "allusions only".

Recommended; excellent English humour.
