Half Ticket (1962, India)

Kishor Kumar dancing as a woman
Vijay (played by Kishor Kumar) is a rather mischievous young man, living with his parents. His father is anxious to get his daughter married off, but Vijay tells all sorts of bad stories about the girl to the prospective father-in-law, and the marriage is cancelled.

At the end of his tether, the father drives Vijay out of the house. Vijay wants to go to Bombay by train, but can't afford the fare. But a woman and a small boy are getting their tickets, and Vijay realises that a child can travel at a reduced fare - the "half ticket" of the title. He bribes the child with sweets and, improbably wearing the child's clothing, he gets a cheap ticket to Bombay.

In Bombay
But a man has stolen a valuable diamond - worth 200,000 Rupees, and thinking the police are on his trail, he conceals it in Vijay's pocket, and follows him to Bombay.

In Bombay, Vijay meets a girl Rajni (Madhubala) and he pretends to be a half-wit, called Munna to win her heart.

There is a song-and-dance sequence and for added zanyness, Kishor Kumar dances as a woman, but there is no linkage between this and the rest of the plot. He is said to have sung both his own role and the male partner's.
