Guess Who (2005)

Putting her slip on
A young woman takes her fiancé to meet her parents, but the father reacts strongly against the young man because of his race. I was rather surprised that a protagonist character in a film could do this in the 21st century.

The father is sarcastic and objectionable, but it has been done much better in Meet the Parents. This film's title is a reference to the groundbreaking film Guess Who's Coming to Dinner.

The young couple finally get into the father's house and the man suffers a lot of abuse from the father. In the bedroom, he picks up her slip (or chemise) and holds it against himself, and then playfully says he is going to put it on. He does so and there is a light-hearted bedroom game going on, when there is a knock at the door. He says "Come in" and the hostile father enters.

All fairly unlikely stuff really.

The small man in my picture is a signer for deaf people.
