Gobs & Gals (1952)

The two men pose as women to get the money back
Sparks Johnson (George Bernard) and Salty Conners (Bert Bernard) are weather operators stationed in the South Seas. Using the weather balloons to send pictures of their handsome commanding officer, the two men get huge amounts of fan mail and gifts sent to them. When their unit is returned to the USA, the incriminating correspondence and money gets into a locker in the possession of a senator, and the boys have to get it back. Their only subterfuge is to dress as eccentric middle-aged women.

In the picture from left to right are Betty Lou (Cathy Downs), Sparks Johnson, Senator Prentice (Emory Parnell) and Salty Conners.

The word "gob" is an old American term for a sailor.

The film was also released as Cruising Casanova.
