Il Giorno del Cobra (1980, Italy)

An Italian cops and robbers film set among the Italian community in Los Angeles. Hard bitten, hard done-to ex agent Larry "the Cobra" Stazioni has to look for information in the sleaziest of places, and to establish this set-up, the rather weary image of a transvestite in the dance club is used. Licinia Lentini plays Lola-Ivan.

Larry has some, ahem, social contact with her early in the film, in the club, but at this stage Lola does not actually reveal her status. Later on he needs information from her. She refuses to give it, and starts to fight him by kickboxing. He doesn't come off well in the process, abut she retreats into another room; a moment later we see -- gasp -- that it is a man, who then continues the fighting process.
