Le Gendarme et les Gendarmettes (1982, France)

A sort of French "Carry On" film, and pretty politically incorrect. Louis de Funès starred in a whole series of such films, always with cleverly created zany situations.

Four ravishing female police officers are assigned to the sleepy St Tropez police station.

But a rich uniform fetishist manages to kidnap two of them. When the Area Commander comes on an inspection, the local chief has to produce the missing two girls, so what more natural way to do so than to frame a passing couple on a motoring charge, and force them to dress in female police uniform, to be shown to the Commander.

Later in the film an undercover operation is required, and Funès dresses as a female officer himself to entrap the bad men.
