First Night (1927)

The First Night Following the announcement of her engagement to Dr. Richard Bard, Doris Frazer receives a letter from Jack White, to whom she was formerly engaged, threatening to prevent her marriage; and Mimi, an adventuress, calls on Dr. Bard with proof that he married her in France. Consequently, Doris and Richard decide to elope and are married. Complications ensue when Mrs. Cleveland, one of the doctor's patients, feigns sickness, and when Mimi arrives to claim the doctor as her husband. It is revealed, however, that Mimi is actually Jack White, Doris' ex-fiancé, in female attire. Doris and Dick admit their former affairs and swear their mutual devotion.
