E.T. - the Extratrerrestrial (1982)
The blockbuster alien-on-earth film. Gertie (Drew Barrymore) dresses E.T. up as a girl. As we have already established that E.T. is male, I suppose this counts as transgender.
In the special edition of the dvd, there is a crew reunion at which everyone on the film congratulate themselves. Spielberg talks about his home life and we very briefly an earlier shot of him dressed as an old woman is shown; it looks as if this was a Halloween costume.
