Escape From New York (1981)

Watching a drag show Futuristic, implausible low budget rescue thriller. The whole of New York is a big prison compound. No-one comes out, and the guards only man the perimeter. But the President of the United States has ditched in there from a hi-jacked plane, and only Kurt Russell's character can save the world. He's a mean character and has to be coerced to come out of prison to go into the snake pit that is New York.

It's encouraging to discover, when he does so, that there is a Drag Queen dance routine in progress in an old variety theatre.
