The Endurance: Shackleton's Legendary Antarctic Expedition (2000, UK et al)

Photo of the theatrical troupe A documentary about Ernest Shackleton's ill-fated 1914 transantarctic expedition with stunning archival still and motion picture photography from the expedition, and commentary from descendants. Their ship the "Endurance" was trapped in ice for months.

The commentary explains the necessity for sporting and other diversions during the period they were immobilised; inevitably there were amateur theatricals, with these two cross-dressed players, shown in a still photograph on screen for a moment.
