Ed Wood (1994)

Ed Wood was a Hollywood producer who never really made good. He struggled to get finance, and all his productions were pretty dire. But he kept trying, and he has a string of films to his credit.

He was a transvestite himself, and sometimes dressed on the set, and some of his films deal with the subject, in particular Glen or Glenda.

This film is a more or less true to life biopic, made in black and white. Ed Wood is played by Johnny Depp, looking more convincing as a girl than Wood himself did. Wood seems to have particularly liked his girl-friend's angora sweaters in real life -- here in the picture with the girlfriend.
