A film that has been justly described as a Monty Python version of Psycho, its title translates to "Strangler against strangler". As is patiently explained in a voice-over, Belgrade cannot enter the first rank of modern cities until it has acquired a serial killer.
Perica fills that gap; he is a plump middle-aged loser, still dominated by his witch-like mother who disciplines him with a cane across his hands. He scratches a living selling pink carnations in theatres and restaurants, but when any woman rejects his offerings, then he exacts revenge on her soon afterwards.
The police inspector Ognjen Strahinjié is pulling out all the stops to catch the culprit without much success. Here he has ordered a parade of his officers and lectures them on the importance of tracking down the killer; this one has decided to go undercover as a crossdresser – but s/he comes to a sticky end quite soon.
A geeky rock singer called Spiridon Kopicl mysteriously gets information about the killings and sings about them. He becomes obsessed and sets out to start killing himself, leading to an unfortunate incident when he and Perica are simultaneously trying to strangle the same woman.
Perica retreats home, wounded to discover that "his" modus operandi has been copied. After receiving instructions from his mother in a dream, he dresses like her to go out on the rampage.
Daft nonsense fairly typical of the heavy humour that was prevalent in the bad old days of communist control of the arts.
