Un dimanche à la campagne (1984, France)

The girls A gentle drama about an elderly man and his time in a country house; this was an expesnive production, and there is plenty of period feel.

There are numerous flashbacks and references to the past; it has been suggested that these two girls represent the brother and sister that lived in the house in past times, but that is too long a shot for me to accept.
