Darling (1965, UK)

A landmark film that is surprisingly little seen nowadays. Julie Christie plays Diana Scott, aa liberated girl of the sixties who will use whatever assets she can to get what she wants. The film skilfully portrays the brittleness and shallowness of the in-crowd scene at that time.

About half-way through there is a party, and a game is started that leads to everyone exchanging clothes. The game quickly changes from a benign pastime to a damaging mental inquisition. The cross-dressing is only partial drag.
