Date Movie (2006)

Grant on the streets of Hollywood A spoof of romantic films, Date Movie has been universally panned as hopelessly awful. There are numerous references to other films and songs; Meet the Parents seems to have suffered the most copying.Julia (Alyson Hannigan) starts the film wearing a fat suit, and there is an extended sequence following Bridget Jones' Diary. However Julia gets herself together and we abruptly see her as her more usual self. She quickly meets and falls in love with Grant Fonckyerdoder, played by relative unknown Adam Campbell. Everything seems to going well, and we are soon into the wedding planning stage. But at a hotel poolside, Grant's best man, Andy appears (Sophie Monk).

Grant close up The snag is that Andy is not a man, but a good looking girl, and Grant and Andy still have plenty of romantic interaction between them, to Julia's dismay. After a very embarrassing few minutes Julia gets to ask how they met, and this takes us immediately into a fantasy sequence in which Grant is walking the streets of Hollywood dressed as a female prostitute, to the strains of Roy Orbison singing Oh Pretty Woman.

What will two thousand get A limousine now draws up and the tinted window winds down, and there in the car is Andy. She says, "I'll give you two grand if I can f*ck you in the ass." Grant replies, "That seems quite reasonable," but Julia then interrupts the fantasy in a voice over and says, "OK, this is just too weird, can we dissolve back now?"

The black motorcyclist And (noticed by Tiffany Michelle) when Julia briefly goes for a wheely motorcycle trip, as soon as she has put the helmet on, her body transforms into a muscular black male. There is no explanation of why this was done.
