Desperate but not Serious (1999)

Two young women are trying to find a particular dream man in Los Angeles, but they have lost the address of the party where they have to meet him. They spend the whole night looking for him a increasingly desperate ways in a series of clubs. The idea is quite interesting, although a little repetitive, and interest is held to the end even though the final outcome is predictable.

The women are Lili (Christine Taylor) and Frances (Paget Brewster). In a club scene late in the film, Frances runs into Sapphire, a drag queen with whom she is evidently good friends. David Michaels plays Sapphire, looking very good. But it's a relatively brief part.

The film was released on dvd as Reckless + Wild.
