Dancing in September (2000)

There is a soap on the television
A story about the struggles of black people to establish a television entertainment channel. When the black hero gets a job at an established studio, even the black gatekeeper assumes he's just an unimportant job-seeker.

The opening credits roll over a montage of clips from American television shows from the 1960's and 1970's featuring black actors. Included is a clip from "The Flip Wilson Show" with Wilson playing his Geraldine character. It lasts 5-10 seconds and has no sound.
