Chocolate com pimenta (2003, Brazil)

A long-running and successful "telenovela" series set in 1920's Brazil; it's sheer romantic wish-fulfilment stuff, but it's good entertainment. It is set in a fictitious town called Ventura ("Happiness") where the main industry is a small chocolate factory.

Kayky Brito plays Bernardete, a fifteen year old girl who is beginning to experience strange feelings; it is eventually revealed that in fact she is a boy, Bernard, who has been brought up as a girl.
