Cape Fear (1991)

The transvestite in the supermarket A scary film about a rapist, Max Cady (Robert de Niro) who eventually gets out of prison and stalks his defence lawyer, Sam Bowden (Nick Nolte). The familiar devices are used by the film-makers to heighten the tension.

As things develop, Bowden and his wife have an argument and their teenage daughter flounces off to her room and puts on the television. Flipping channels she gets a sequence from the music video Been Caught Stealing by Jane's Addiction, in which a transvestite shopper takes a whole pineapple and conceals it up his dress.


Cady dresses as the maid Cady kills the Bowden's maid, and dressed in her clothes but without bothering with makeup, gets access to the house.
