La course à l'échalote (1975, France)

A drag artiste at the club
For rather complicated reasons, the title deeds to a very profitable drag club in Paris have been made out carte blanche, and whoever can insert their name on the documents gets ownership. The drag performers at the club hear about this and decide to do something about it.

The manager deals with the visitor to the vault
Pierre Richard plays an inefficient relief manager at the bank, and he gets into all sorts of scrapes. But he catches one of them in the act; a crazy chase on a train and the ferry to England follows, with quite a lot of the performers appearing in drag.

The manager's character is very reminiscent of Gene Wilder.

The film is known in English as Wild Goose Chase and in German as Der Tolpatsch mit dem sechsten Sinn.
