A better than average story about an American military administrator and his efforts to restore order to an occupied Italian town in the later stages of World War 2. Unfortunately the characterisations are insulting in the extreme, with all the Italians as craven liars, and all the Americans as upright role models.
It is reported that Edouardo Cianelli, who played Major Nasti, drags up. The picture was supplied by a correspondent and shows him hiding out in the fields, but I was unable to find this scene in the film.
