Ballistic: Ecks vs Sever (2002)

A particularly weak thriller; the baddies have developed a device that can be inserted into someone's body, and it can then be triggered later to kill them instantly. Ecks is a hard-bitten retired policeman who is persuaded much against his will to return for this one last job, because only he is up to it.

The chief baddie is Lucy Liu. The role was originally assumed to be a male role, but the producers decided to change it to be played by her, and for this reason it is quoted by some authorities as having a female playing a male role. But it is only in that sense of casting, and is not in any way transgender.

But it's a terrible film, anyway.
