The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes Smarter Brother (1975)

The ladies in the railway carriage Played strictly for laughs, Gene Wilder is Sherlock Homes younger, and zanier brother, supported by Marty Feldman. Several traditional British supporting actors appear, although the budget was too limited to make much of a sense of being in Victorian London.

Early in the film, the real Holmes and Watson go to take a train; they are being observed by the evil Moriarty. We see two women in the compartment of the railway carriage, and they are dressed as men. The older lady asks the other how much she was paid for the exchange of clothes.

Holmes and Watson leave the train dressed as ladies Outside the train we see that Holmes and Watson are leaving the train, dressed in the ladies' clothes. Evidently the whole thing is a ruse to fool Moriarty into believing that Holmes has actually left London.
