A film about lesbian romance in WWII Germany; some of the main characters are Jewish, and of course they are under cover.
Ilse is seen wearing a suit cut like a man's in several scenes. Nowadays this would be entirely unremarkable, but in 1943 it would have been shocking, to the point of getting stared at in the street, and more. I suspect this is just lack of attention to the historical aspect.
(And she obviously can't possibly see herself in a mirror angled towards the camera like that, can she?)
However at Lilly's all-female birthday party later in the film, Felice is dressed in male evening clothes, complete with top hat and dances with her, taking the man's part.
