The Adventures of Barry McKenzie (1972, Australia)

Edna Everage makes herself at home Australians had an ambiguous relationship with Britain over the years; Britain was "the Mother Country" and yet Australians found much in the customs of the British to complain about. This film sends up Australian coarseness and British stuffiness, and it comes over as crude and immature.

Barry Humphries plays the over-the-top Edna Everage, and early appearance of a persona that he was to develop considerably in later years.
