Adam est ... Ève (1954, France)

Stars a Parisian actress named Micheline Carvel (shown as Michèle Carvel in some records) in her first film. The film is about a man who becomes a woman (undoubtedly inspired by the Jorgensen news). Micheline Carvel also plays the male role of Charles Beaumont. A magazine article shows her with a male haircut, and some pasted-on facial hair.

I suppose the title is a pun: in French it sounds like "Adam et Ève": Adam and Eve instead of Adam is Eve. And the surname, Beaumont, is a reference to the most famous historical transgender person, the Chevalier Beaumont d'Éon.
