The film is a comedy about three straight men and a woman and her young daughter who live together. It's a sequel to Three Men and a Baby; the "three" was spelt out in the title of the first film, but it is usually shown as a numeral in this one.
Obviously intended as a feel-good family film, it is rather over-sentimental. The adults' personalities set up considerable tensions, as well as the romantic dimension with the woman. And of course there is a baddy in the cast, who is misleading her into marriage in England. (The screenplay is otherwise set in the USA, and English viewers of the film can get a good, but unflattering, perspective on how Hollywood scriptwriters see them and their country from this film.)
Two of the good men follow the woman and the little girl to England to rescue them; the third man, Jack, (Ted Danson) is an actor and he is busy filming. The other two telephone him on the set to ask him to join them. He explains, while wearing a Carmen Miranda costume, that he's playing a sort of South American King Lear. Just as well there still aren't any practical videophones on the market.
Also released as Three Men and a Little Lady.
