200 Cigarettes (1999)

Transvestite and girlfriend arrive at the party This entertaining film follows the disconnected frantic efforts of some New Yorkers to find pleasure on New Year's Eve. Most of them find increasing levels of disappointment and frustration, but it all comes together in the end.

Near the end of the film a crossdresser (described in the credits as a drag queen, played by James Murphy) and her girlfriend arrive at the party. The taxi driver refers to her in uncomplimentary terms in his summing up at the very end of the film, too.

The film was also released as The Islander.
